My aunt and uncle have 2 papillion dogs. They are the sweetest dogs ever. They don’t shed very much,if any. I highly recommend papillions.

I have a papillion, and she’s the absolute sweetest thing in the world. Generally, they are gentle, but they can be hyper/extremely playful. My little girl Zoe is extremely–always has been and I wouldn’t want her any other way. They are a bit fragile, so its necessary to make sure to supervise if they are around rough playing children, and you do have to watch out for the heads. I didn’t have a problem with my Zoe-girl, but some papillions–just like babies–they have a soft soft on their head that takes a while to completely form. Other than that, the only thing I can think to tell you is they CAN be hard to house break. Zoe it took forever to house break. My labbe (beagle/lab mix) and shepherd/st. bernard mix took to it amazingly quick, but Zoe it took until she was over six months to house break. So, they can be hard to house break–mostly because they’re stubborn because they are extremely intelligent little dogs. Thankfully, though, their messes are small.
Other than that, papillions are a joyful little dog to be around and have. Playful yet extremely affectionate. I couldn’t ask for a better one, and I definitely plan to get more in the future. And if you want to check this information yourself, just google it. You can find tons of info on the net about them. http://www.dogbreedinfo.com is also a good site. Good luck! (And I have a chihuahua; there really isn’t anything to be afraid of. As long as raised correctly and not teased, they can be one of the best little companions to have. =D )
Hope this helps,
Katie
