What is a proper weight for my sheltie?

Posted by: | Comments (5)

My dog is just over a year, about 15 and a half months old… she is pushing the highest part of AKC standards at 16 inches in height, however, i’m concerned she may be underweight. I feed her properly, and she weighs 21 pounds.

I was concerned because it says that the higher weight bracket should be about 27 pounds, so I was wondering if since she’s a taller dog if she’s supposed to weigh the 27 pounds.

Does anyone know how much my 16 inch shetland sheepdog should weigh, on average?

Thanks

What type of dog would be best?

Posted by: | Comments (23)

My family wants to get another dog. We have one dog who is a mix of so many different types of dogs, the only one we can tell is in her is red & white setter. She gets lonely during the day when we’re gone, so we want a dog that will get along with her. We have a large backyard and can exercise the dog. We were thinking about an australian shepherd, border collie, welsh corgi, or a shetland sheepdog. What breed/sex would be best?

I have 3 shetland sheepdogs and i just got a new puppy a couple days ago. he is 5 months old and behaves well, but with my other dogs, they are all shelties but they bark all the time and they start fights and they are very annoying, i just don’t want this to happen to this one :\

I have a Shetland Sheepdog and we lost her companion a while back. Our other dog was a Keeshond, and she ran away from home and was killed by a car.

We are thinking about getting another dog, and from what I’ve been able to research about Eskies say that they would work well in my house.

I also have five cats in the house, and am worried about how the Eskie would behave around my kitties.

Any advise would be amazing. :)
