Ive always have wanted to live in australia and go to uwa and study marine biology.
I want to move there next year. what do i have to do? ive Google this but im so confused.
and i want to stay there for a month in like the summer or maybe for spring break and see how it is. and my bff will go with me we both have passports. i have a job and im saving all my paychecks only spending when i really need to. i live her in the states(oregon) i also have to dogs there dachshunds and papillion really tiny. so the Q’s i have are:
Will it be hard to find a job?
What kind of visas do i need?
Health insurance?
What kind of jobs are there for an 18/19 year old?
not fast food
What about my dogs?
I at least have to take Emma(dachshund ive had her for like ever shes my bby CAN NOT LEAVE HER!!!)lol. I can leave the other one since my older sister LOVES him. ha.
Does my dog need a passport too?
Quarantine?
Whats that?
Should I wait for another year after i graduate and save money?
My parents said they will send me some mula as long as i go to school.
What colleges can i go to?
How much money do you think i will need to move over there?
And where are some good places to get an apartment?
Furnished or unfurnished?
Anything helps? Thnks

First question first – dogs. To take you dog over you will need to have her put in quarenteine for quite some time – this process (not counting aircosts) will be around 2K. You will likely have to pay the same amount to come home. That will be 4K total.
Schooling – as an international student you have to pay internatonal fees – which will be around 20K a year but 1) they have to be paid upfront and 2) you are not eligible for any loans (in the US or Australia) so if you do not have the money saved already you are in trouble.
You will also need around 15K a year in accommodation costs PLUS what you can earn while you are on a student visa. The maximum hours you are permitted to work is 20 per week which will give you around $200-250 a week after tax (if you can find an employer that agrees to 20 hours a week with no variation), which given rent and utilities in a shared student house is close to $250 a week – you need to have some “parental money” to live. College accommodation is closer to $350-500 a week.Furnished apartments are usually the high end places for businessmen. You will only be abel to get a furnished place if you choose on campus accommodation.
So in short – if your parents have around 110K saved up for your college education – you should be OK. Otherwise you will find you have to return to the US mid-degree.
Jobs – well fast food is really only the type of work you will get – or cafes (but remember there are no tips in australia just your wage).

well i dont have all the answers to you’re questions but i can help you with some, for visa’s here is a good website to find the info you need
http://www.immi.gov.au/living-in-australia/choose-australia/moving-to-australia/
Australia is a very expensive country to live in example things like food petrol for your car rent are very costly especially if you live in or near Sydney
With your dog it would have to go through quarantine Australia has very strict laws with quarantine it would be somthing you have to contact the Australian Quarantine and inspection service here is another website for that
http://www.daff.gov.au/aqis/faqs
sorry cant help you with schools you would have to look up which universities that would do the degrees to become a marine biologist i would look in areas like
Port Douglas or Carnes they are up near the top of Australia lots of marine life up there to study
Australia is a good country to live in just really do your reasearch maybe come here on a working visa for a year see if you like it here then decide if you would want to live here permantly to study etc
good luck with your travels

Go to New Zealand. It’s better.
