@PixieFairy676 how did you potty train your pap? i have 2 and they are 7 months old. we still find pee spots and poop in the house everyday and we have tried about everything. help please!
Your dog seems very large for a papillon, watching the way he runs around in your garden his body moves more like a border collie type of breed. Still has the awsome ears though
You won’t be sorry. My first pap is a little girl …shy and wanting to be on my lap. Once I got her a friend when she was 2, WOW, she came out of her shell and plays with him like mad. It’s so cute ….I will always own a pappy! They are just so amusing and loving.
At lease they don’t act like this around the clock. They just get little energy spurts…usually the same time of day…they race around and then plop…I love how they ‘dig’ in their beds just before curling up to go to sleep!…mine loves cushy, smushy quilts!
That’s unusual. The bred is very clever and smart. I taught mine so many tricks right away. Potty training was hard, but once it happened … NO more accidents…she’d rather pop than pee in the house!
You’re right… THey are such a ball of energy after the bath! I love it! Then they pass out…they are also so proud of how pretty they look all fluffy. Mine loves to be blow dried!
haha my pap has the EXACT same temperment and tendencies. I found myself wondering about puppy ridalin a couple times! He looks like a happy pup though
@maniacmaree13 Aw! How cute! Tell him happy birthday from Oreo and me! Oreo’s birthday is September 26th, he will be 13 this year!! No one believes me when I tell them his age! They all think he is a puppy! Haha
@BlueChild86 Yeah! mine doesn’t lick people to death and doesn’t claim them either but he DOES go into a panic attack when they leave! Poor puppy! and his birthday is coming up soon! January 23 2010 he’ll be 4! I can’t wait!
@maniacmaree13 Oh yeah, mine is the same way! But once he decides you’re alright, then your HIS! He attacks with licks! Haha When he meets someone new, he barks like he some big Saint Bernard but his tail will be wagging all the while. Silly boy!
@BlueChild86 he’s verrrry particular about who he’ll let pet him unless he’s “sniff-searched” you like an airport security officer! still love him to death!
@BallerinaBearrr Papillons love to play with cats. My dog loves my cats but he gets jealous when I play with them. Just make sure you train your Papillon to not chase the cats and you’re set. As for gender, I’d get a boy. It will be much easier bringing in a male dog. If you were to get a female, your dog would become very territorial. The only thing is, maybe wait to get the new dog just because your cat is so old. If you got a new dog now, the stress might be too much for him/her.
Oh!! And is there a difference between a boy and a girl? I think i’d like to get a boy. My other dog is a girl (5 years old) but she’s fixed. Is one easier than the other etc…???
We got our two papillons from pet stores and they’re both five and perfectly healthy, The only problem is they charge too much but they were worth every penny!
Our dogs still do this, we call it “taking a nutty”
Ballerina, you won’t look back! Hardy little dogs and you fall in love with them! Be prepared for heartache when they finally pass away-had my last for 18 years! Like they were always with you! The Pap I got after she died is another character and I promised myself I wouldn’t let my self in for that heart ache again….here we go! He’s only 1 1/2 so we got lots more years together! They make you defenceless in emotion department! Get a Pap!
Thank you so much!!! That really made my decision very clear! I think I would like to get a papillon they had the least health problems compared to all the other dogs I looked at and they are definately the cutest thank you once again

@gabbygazify They’re called papillon because of the ears, not the fur. Not all paps have long hair. I understand the pap in the video is only a puppy.
