Papillions….. what is it with this breed?

I have been around a lot of small dogs and Papillions seem to be the a perfect 10 on a 1-10 scale of useless dogs. The Chinese Crested could make a good argument for being the most useless- along with the Min Pin….. all very useless-but the Papillion is the clear winner.

Should the AKC encourage the reclassification of the Papillion from “companion dog” to “useless dog”?

Thoughts?
For what? Asking a question on prefernece with no swearing or profanity?

Are you tryuing to harass me? because I certainly belive you are. I am afraid I will have to report you as well for trying to intimidate me.

every dog has a talent try and research the bread. but it is not useless.

You are being reported… you are so rude! I dont own a papillion, however I want one. They are classified as a very intelleigent dog, perhaps the most intelligent out of the toy breeds. They are in many agility and flyball compitions, shows and are VERY trainable. Very smart dogs!

Papillions were not only bred to be companions. They were also bred to be watch dogs. They also are very good at doing agility trails! And there are no useless dog breeds. If they were useless they would have never been bred. All breeds have had a purpose.

what does YOUR dog do?
what fantastic job does it have. How is it proving its use and value??

Im not sure why you think they are “useless”

Many of these small breeds make excellent therapy dogs, and even service dogs. Companion breeds are often used for seizure alert and diabetic dogs.. because of their clingy nature, they tend to be more attentive to emotions and changes in their owners.
