It's almost like they want to break out in a run, but they're trying to control themselves, and the end result is a lively little step that is very much a trademark of this and a few other breeds. We got her when she was 11 weeks old. She's large for the breed, mostly because her parents were large, and she tends to get into Max's food as well as her own (we feed them in their crates now). She was a very easy puppy to raise, and she is an absolute angel. :) Sophie is 2-1/2. We got her when she was 11 weeks old. I don't mind him sleeping on my bed at all but the problem is, soon he will have to be without us in a crate for about 4 hours a day in the morning. So we are trying to get him used to the crate so he doesn't cream and yell when alone at home. Needless to say, my wife and I have been sleepless the last two nights :)) Super smart puppy and he's so attached... follows my wife everywhere around the house, stays close to her feet. I live in an apartment and I am crate training him now. YMMV, but it worked fine for us. They seem to associate the crate with their humans leaving, without any confusion. Max and Sophie bolt into their crates when they see us putting on shoes or coats.
