German Shepherd Dogs. They’ve ruined me for other breeds. I simply cannot find another I like more & I don’t expect I ever will. They’re everything I wanted & require in a dog.
Here is my GSD, Ava

I fell in love with the Rat terrier breed. They were my first love and for a long time, the only love. Now I love rat terriers and yorkshire terriers( I can’t decide which one I like more…). If my husband had his way, my 3rd love would be Basset hounds, though he did convince me in letting him have a basset puppy.

Rottweilers, the first puppy I owned after I moved out on my own. I had him over 7years, sadly he died earlier this year. I still miss him so much. I LOVE big dogs. But I’ve recently moved into a small house and I’m thinking about getting a small dog, I’ve fallen in love with french bulldogs. They remind me of Stich (from the Disney movie) = > But Rotties will allways be my fave they are so pretty!

I really like bully breeds, and terriers I grew up with American Pitbull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers(My dad used to breed both), and Silky Terriers. They all are so cute, sweet and playful.

I prefer herding and working dogs. My all time favorite is the German Shepherd. As a child I ruined a perfectly good guard dog at my father’s job. I’ll never forget Torp. Short for Tore-Up, I think. He was a gorgeous purebred who bit everyone. Except me. I snuck in after my father unlocked the gate, and to his horror, he found me wrapped around Torpy, who he said looked stupified, and was never quite the same. Every time he saw me he’d get all giddy. Oops:) The owner finally took him home, cause all he ever wanted after that was love.
So my father got us a German Shepherd mix from the dog pound, and she was an awesome family dog. As a young adult, I adopted another GSD mix from a shelter. Jesse was that one special dog. I toured all over the country, and took her along. Our lives were one big adventure after another. I still get weepy thinking about her, and it’s been over 15 years since she died.
In 2001, when I found myself dogless, my ex’s mother gave me a Shetland Sheepdog puppy, Jake, the dog in my avatar. He was so easy to train, and well mannered that I fell in love with the breed. Now I have another, and he’s so easy, it blows my mind. I’ve only had him for a month and a half, and he knows all the basic commands, and walks around the park 3 times a day off leash. He came potty trained, and no one trained him…I don’t even understand it. I just took him outside, told him to go potty and he did, and still does. The first time I tried to teach him to fetch, I threw the toy and he brought it back and dropped it. I thought it was a fluke, but he does it every time. lol I’m sold on Shelties now, but GSD’s still catch my eye.
